Before Confucius became a great master, he went to see Lao Tzu who gave him one minute of his time. He looked at Confucius and said, "I don't know who you are, but I look at you and I say, give up your pride and give up your ambition to be an important person. Just be ordinary, and whatever you are will come forth.”

In my own personal experience I find and have found that the most precious inputs in my life have not come through any direct efforts of my own. The great things that have happened to me I couldn’t have set up as goals because I had no idea how it would be there.

Somebody asked a priest 'Do you really believe in God?' He gave the most beautiful answer, he said 'Believe in him?! I touch him every day.’

You cannot undertake a project, directly, to find love - by being loving whenever you can, for example. Because when you make an effort to be loving, you will immediately awaken the opposite pole.

The universe is not focused. We are focused on this part of the universe, but in the universe there are trillions of things going on all of the time. The universe has no centre.

If you know something then you are already selecting, but if you don't know anything then everything is interesting. Nothing is more important than anything else; no moment is more important than any other moment.

Everybody has two destinies: one is to find your true nature or to find the oneness with everything, and the other is your worldly goals: what to do in the world of people.
